Waste Performance

On Tuesday 18th of May, Ruapotaka School had a ‘Waste Performance’ in the multi purpose room. It showed which bin we put our rubbish in and showed us how not to waste food. This shows that we just put our rubbish in the wrong bin so you leave the poor hungry worms starve. The performers' names were Matt and Andy. They were as funny as. The Performance was very awesome and it was very interesting. It taught us to put the right thing in the right rubbish bin.

Asthma Show

Last week on Friday we had a special show to watch in the multipurpose room. The special show was based on Asthma. We sat down and we saw a man with a flash blue suit sitting on the chair. The man's name was Chris from the song for Crossing The Road. Chris sang to the audience and he danced to the song and he chose some people from the audience to go up and hold his puppets. We sometimes had to repeat what he said when he called in his pet fish Sailor. We had an awesome time watching the Asthma Show.

Origami

Every Friday we make origami with colored paper as part of Visual Arts. We made random things with our colored paper that we received and we only managed to make farm and zoo animals. At the moment we are trying to make different things from animals. We enjoyed making different kinds of origami.

Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures.

Duffy Assembly

Today we had a Duffy Assembly where a 25 year old man called Myron Simpson came to talk about reading and his career and his future. He brought some of his equipment to show that he is a champion at bicycling. He showed us his expensive bicycle, shoes, helmet that his dad painted and his skin suit that can make him speed fast through the air. Some students from the crowd got chosen to wear his stuff. After that, Sini said a huge 'thank you' to Myron for coming and sharing his career with us and how great reading is. Myron Simpson has a muesli bar named after him, but it is not out in the markets.

Daffodils

On Friday 31st of August it was Daffodil Day and each class had to make Daffodils. We made Daffodils and a beautiful red vase to put our lovely Daffodils in it. I think our class had the best daffodils in the whole school. After assembly we came back to class and took lovely photos with our handmade daffodils. We had a lovely and happy afternoon on Friday.
