Rewriting a text using a different language style

Yesterday, the Bananas' group were with Mrs Golder on the mat and we we were given a task to do. The task was to rewrite a page from the Journal and the book we were reading: 'Why do I blush?' Together as a group we used words from the text to make up a narrative. We turned the language of an information report to the language of a narrative because we were learning to analyse the the different types of language features used in a text.
This is our rewrite:
Princess Ofa commented, “These reactions are signs your body is getting ready to …”Queen Melelose added quickly, “either fight or run away from a situation.”Prince Raniera was listening in and advised, “This is how our ancestors often reacted a long time ago.”Kolotina, the butler exclaimed, “ That’s true, your Majesty, for example when they came face to face with a large woolly mammoth!” Mikayla, the servant walked in with a bucket of ice and agreed, “this can help you cool down from your fight or flight reaction.”Prince Raniera interrupted the conversation and explained, “Your blood carries your body’s extra heat into tiny vessels called capillaries.”While the maid was cleaning she overheard the conversation in the royal room and wanted to join in this academic discussion. She mumbled shyly, “Because blood is red and the capillaries in your face are very near the surface of your skin, this heat-release this heat makes your face appear red, too.” The royal family were in shock of her knowledge and intelligence and were absolutely speechless.

By Bananas: Kolotina, Ofa, Melelose, Raniera.
