Gallipoli Soldier
25th April 1915
Dear Friends,

On the twenty fifth of April 1915 we arrived at Gallipoli. When we landed at Gallipoli we heard gunshots,  bombs firing and tanks crashing. It was pitch black we couldn’t see a thing until we saw a light shine far in the distance. It was a long walk until we got to the light. When we got to the light we saw people lying on the floor with blood all over them. ‘’We were too late." said Sam and Tom.

The next day, we woke up and ate a little snack to fill our hungry stomachs before we got ready to go. We finished our snacks and headed out the trench with shivering lips. It was cold that morning with bombs lit up ready to go, gunshots in the air and people running with fear and no weapons.  It was a hard mission for me and my mates, fighting against others but we struggled on without our weapons.

It was getting late that night so we headed back to our tent to have a rest for the next day. We laid our heads on our pillows with pain. As we slept, we dreamt about getting shot by the other soldiers. When we woke up the next morning, we travelled our way out the trench to find some weapons for our next battle in the land of  gunshots. On our way to find weapons we found a soldier's dead body, we dumped it ext to a palm tree and kept on searching for hidden weapons.

Later on that day, it was time for battle and we headed in the direction of the gunshots and bombs. The gunshots and bombs were getting louder and louder but then it disappeared away. We headed the other direction and there was a gunshot right at the back of us, then when we turned around only two survived. Tom died of gunshot. After that, Sam and I screamed as hard as we could because we were scared to death. A little while later we were looking around for some help and we found a red cross drawn on the branch of a tree and it showed us the way of living your lives.
